Earth Day is a yearly reminder for me to plant my Zinnias. Remember last year? Well, Earth Day came and went and before I realized it, I hadn't even bought my seeds for this year. Therefore, this post is a little belated. Happy Earth Day, Everyone! Go plant something!

Those Stubborn Spaghetti Stains
Calling all moms (or wives with messy husbands)(or messy women)(or people who like spaghetti)...
Have you ever had to throw away a good shirt because those stubborn spaghetti stains would not come out? I ALMOST did!
My friends I have to share with you a solution I found to getting those stains out. I wish for goodness sake I would have taken a before and after picture to prove it but you'll just have to trust me on this one.
My son ate spaghetti the other day and got it ALL over his white shirt and khaki pants. Let's pause for just a second. I know what you are thinking...why did you feed him spaghetti while wearing that? To prove that I'm not a total Mommy Fruit-Loop, it was Wednesday night supper at church and I forgot the menu items for that night. So there!
Okay, back to the great phenomenon. After I rushed home I...
Step One: Stripped him down to his skin.
Step Two: Soaked the stained spots in Shout.
Step Three: Rubbed the stains with the edge of a spoon to really break up those fibers. (Much easier than your fingernail).
Step Four: I washed it in the hottest water
And Wa-La! The stain was still there! Granite, faded a bit, but still there!
Darn, I then repeated Steps Two-Four again, and again, and again. In other words, I washed the clothes four times WITHOUT drying in between. (This is an important side note) After about all that, the stain was faded but still very noticeable and never to be worn in public. I was so discouraged because the outfit was a good "church" outfit and I couldn't bare to throw it out. So I resulted to searching on the Internet for alternate solutions. (Remember, the garments are still wet, never have been dried by this point). I searched and searched and found an idea that couldn't hurt to try. Besides, there's nothing else I could have done but use them as play clothes. I tried this idea and what do you know, IT TOOK THE WHOLE STAINS OUT! I could NOT believe it! It didn't fade the stains, IT REMOVED ALL OF THEM!
The End.

What?

Why do you keep reading this post?

That's the end of the story.

No more to be written.

The stain was completely removed. That's it.
.
.
.
.
It's time for me to go.

.

What's that you say?

You want to know the answer to this wonderful discovery?

Well, why didn't you say so in the first place.

The most wonderful solution to getting those stubborn spaghetti stains removed after washing them four times, scraping a spoon with Shout between each cycle is to HANG THEM UP WHILE THEY ARE STILL WET TO DRY IN THE SUN! Yes, my frustrated Mommy-Friends. The SUN removed those stains. I could not believe it. No more, Bye-Bye, vanished. I just had to share my "Ray of Sunshine" discovery.
Disclaimer: I do not promote dumping spaghetti sauce on a nice white shirt to experiment with this idea. Nor am I promoting this works on two and a half year old stains. Please re-cloth your child/children after stripping them down for the sake of modesty purposes, please. And Thank You.

The Beauty of Spring

Last Fall I tried my hand at planting tulip bulbs. I found a good spot and dug a hole. That's about the extent of my gardening knowledge. Through the bitter winter they lay dormant waiting for the perfect time to sprout. The other week I noticed them peeking through the ground and today they were in full bloom. They are gorgeous. It brought such a smile to my face I wanted to pass it along. Hubby and I also bought some fresh bird seed and as you can see, they have had a feast! Oh, how I love the beauty of Spring!

First "Model" Shoot
Lisa, an aspiring model, called me up last week to ask if I'd do some headshots for a pageant she will be in. Well, not knowing anything about the pageant world, she clarified that they needed to be "natural" headshots. So, I was up for the challenge. We had a great time and I learned a few things about "models" in the process in comparison to my own active toddler. See insights as follows...
1. Models= eye contact
Own Toddler= no eye contact
2. Models= like to be photographed
Own Toddler= immuned to the camera/runs away
3. Models= follows directions
Own Toddler= follows own direction

Duck 101
Hubby and I took Little Bit to the park on Friday to feed the ducks. Not only was it mating season but the ducks kept mooning us. Sometimes shutting off the television is just not enough to protect innocence. Watch out for those ducks!

Crude Commercial *Updated*
I am completely appalled by the new Burger King commercial. This is not the first time this fast food restaurant chain has advertised on the perverse side. Are they that desperate for service?
I am so sick of seeing such things that are so degrading. I posted the link below if you have not seen what I'm referring too. I didn't even want to embed it in this post because I couldn't stand to see the picture. I am in no way promoting this but was wondering if I'm the only one feeling this way.
Is this just not completely inappropriate?

*Updated* I wanted to link you to a site called One Million Moms. They have an article about this very issue with information to lodge a complaint. Thanks BP for the link. I've never seen this site before.

So Much To Do...So Little Time
This week and the weeks to follow are jam packed for me and my family. I hope to get back to blogging soon. I haven't even been able to check my Google Reader in about 2 weeks. I feel so behind but other things have taken precedence. I will post fPhoto Fridays but I can't promise to comment. We have built a wonderful community that I know you will encourage each other. Hopefully life will slow down soon but until then, I'll pop in every now and again. This is not goodbye forever. Just until the pace changes from a race to a trod.

The "C" Family Sneak Peek
I had the biggest privilage to meet Mindy over at Ponderings of the Heart. No longer can my husband say that I have "imaginary friends" through Blogland. I had the best time taking pictures of her precious 4! Not only were they photogenic AND beautiful, but they were troopers in the breezy outdoors. Here are a couple because I just couldn't decide between them. Thanks, Mindy, for giving me this opportunity!
Miss A.
Miss M.
Miss L.
Little B.
Peek-a-Boo
This one makes me smile. Those cheeks are too cute!
Little B and his warm sweater. Look at those blue eyes!
M and the Pinwheel.
Miss A dancing around.
I love this picture of the three girls!
Little B wasn't too sure about this bucket.

*Expanded* Newborn Sneak Peek
Remember this? Well, she has arrived and how beautiful she is!
I had the best time photographing this little joy. Not even a week old she was so precious. Thank you T & M for being so trusting.
Note to Self: I think I need to start an official photography blog to post these fun sessions. I'll think about that one.

While baby was feeding and middle girl was napping, the oldest sibling and I had a bit of fun. She helped come up with these poses. She'd suggest this...and maybe this...and how about this? She's a natural!

Baby A.
Sorry for the funky stretch-look to the pictures. I have yet to figure out how to keep it from being wonky on this thing.
